Serving & Assistance

+ Connect Groups

Connect Groups:  Join one of our Connect Groups to be able to serve others or share your needs needs with them.  In addition to service, these groups endeavor to grow in their relationship to God and each other.   More info is below.

+ Urgent School Needs

For the last few years we’ve been partnered with Evergreen Middle School by helping them with weekly mentoring, providing school supplies, and helping families in need.  This year is different in many ways, but the needs are still there and so we’re inviting you to participate in the following ways to help minister to the people of our community through EVMS.

  • Donate any of the following gifts and prizes for the 50 or so students that are currently coming on campus for school: bags of candy, suckers, gum, Pokemon Cards, reusable water bottles, cans of soda, fidgets, pens, color pencils, stickers, winter gloves (possibly in bulk), etc.  Donations can be dropped off at the church office during business hours or during church service times from now until Dec 16.
  • 1 or 2 people to go on Thursdays to Valley Partners and pick up 10-15 bags of food and deliver them to EVMS for students to take home.  It should only take about 30 minutes and volunteers can sign up for every Thursday or to take it on a rotation.  Contact Pastor Billy at billybuisman@gmail.com if interested.
  • 2-5 Volunteers to check-in students on campus when in-person classes resume, possibly in January/February.  Contact Pastor Billy at billybuisman@gmail.com if interested.

+ Northwest Connect

Northwest Connect:  Our church people have been serving the community long before COVID-19 through this incredible ministry.  They provide food, clothing, and non-edible supplies to those in need.  So if you want to help volunteer or need help, contact them.

+ Valley Partners

Valley Partners:  Our old church building has been used for the last few decades to provide food, clothing, and non-edible supplies to those in need.  Many of their volunteers have had to stop helping due to personal health vulnerabilities, so if you want to help volunteer or need help, contact them by clicking the link above or calling (509) 927-1153.

Connect Groups

_

We need one another! Right now, we cannot gather in person, but we can still stay connected. The primary way we are trying to do that now is through what we are calling Connect Groups. A Connect Group is a group of approximately 10-12 people that will stay connected during this time in order to check in on one another, look out for one another, share communication, and support each other in prayer. We have asked each Connect Group to have a leader who will ensure that: each person is contacted at least once a week, serve as a liaison between the pastors and Connect Group, and commit to pray for their Connect Group members.

_

Over the last week and a half, we have been rolling these groups out as quickly as we can, but this is still a work in process, and we appreciate your patience. Some Sunday School teachers or existing small group leaders have said they would serve as a leader for those in their class or group. Other individuals have contacted us directly to share who they have, or would be, connecting with. So far this represents more than 200 people! Thank you for loving one another. If you do not know if you are included in a group, or if you would be willing to reach out to others who are not currently included in a group, please email us at: info@svnc.org
