Our Mission & Values

Mission

Our mission is rooted in Scripture and built around four key statements:

Pursue God – We strive to seek God first in all things, both personally and corporately.

Build Faith – None of us have arrived. That is why we are committed to continuing to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Share Truth – We believe that the ultimate truth is not a concept, but a person – Jesus Christ. As those who follow Jesus, we are compelled to share Jesus through the words we proclaim and the character we embody.

Love All – Since God has loved us, we love others. While that is an easy statement to make, we are committed to the difficult, and often messy work of living that out in our community.

Values

In order to live out this mission to which God has called us, we focus ourselves around five core values:

Worship Joyfully – Since we seek God first in all things, we gather weekly to worship God as a unified congregation, and we scatter throughout the week to worship God through the way in which we live our lives.

Study Scripture – As a people whose goal is Christlikeness, we study Scripture personally and corporately. But more importantly we come to Scripture in a humble manner, allowing Scripture to read us.

Champion Healthy Families – Recognizing that we are located in part of our community that is filled with families, we strive to find ways to promote and the well-being of families.

Live Generously – Since our lives are a gift from God, we want to be good stewards of all that God has entrusted to us: time, resources, talents, passions.

Cultivate a Compassionate Community – We are a people who are continually learning how to see people with the eyes of Jesus. While we recognize that we cannot address every problem around us, we strive to find ways that we can use our gifts and passions to address the brokenness around us.

Agreed Statement of Belief

These are the beliefs Nazarenes hold to be true:

-We believe in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

-We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

-We believe that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.

-We believe that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

-We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

-We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

-We believe that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

-We believe that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
